Trouble And Money #43
How many calories are in an Italian Sub sandwich?

The Seawall, Rye, New Hampshire - Dinner Time
Gator, Tammy, and I were on the seawall tossing driftwood sticks and talking about our days.
Tammy works at what I would call a shady law firm. The characters at the firm she tells me about make her days at work fun.

I'm beginning to attach the names to the daily soap opera she tells me about as we end our day.
It's a little lonely at my company. The end of the day chatter sounds like this.
"Gator and I played Tom Petty songs on the way to the range."
"I did 25 rolls and shoots."
"I did major background checks on my current client."
Do you see where I'm going? Tammy's stories about the lives of her office friends and their daily dramas are far more interesting than the daily humdrum life of a Private Investigator.
If I told Tammy about the occasional shootouts, the take-downs, the surveillance of cheating spouses and the once in a while ass kickings I have received, (part of the job when you become a client of an insurance company that is being scammed.) she would be right to grab all the beers in the fridge and leave me standing there without a beer in my hand.
We are sitting on the seawall splitting a large Italian Sub and having a few when my phone rings.
Wally started telling me his findings. Jason Falter did arrive in Warsaw and has not been documented as leaving the country.
"Wally, I know I owe you a favor." "I know you went above and beyond for me."
Wally said, "Someone went to the wall for me, Connie." "She has a son the same age as your clients." "I owe her, and we will keep it that way."
"I'll be meeting with the Falters tomorrow morning. Tom Falter is a bigshot, and I don't know how reactive he will be. His company certainly has government contacts."
"Thank you, Wally."
I turned toward Tammy and said,
"Well, my client's son entered Poland to cross into Ukraine to fight with the Russian Army against Ukraine because he lost a ping pong match. His parents don't know he's there."
Then I added "Top that."
Tammy said, "Kelly Blinkler is getting boned by Keith Sander in her office every day after lunch to burn the calories off. For real, it is nothing but exercise for each of them."
I shook my head and started laughing, and said,
"You win."
