Trouble And Money #48
I'm thinking about sense of purpose when I have a beer. - Conrad Grange, Private Investigator and Connoisseur.

Inflight Musings Boston to Paris, Paris To Warsaw
There is a lot to think about. When I'm on a case, I try to go down all the avenues in my head and prepare for the "What ifs."
An honest analysis and a strong understanding of how people can differ from what you see are good angles to consider.
I'm thinking about Jason Falter and his overdeveloped sense of honor. That trait caused him to quit college and not compete for a slot on the Cavaliers lacrosse team.
A sense of purpose is something I can understand, and most young men struggle to find the right fit.
In Jason Falter's case, the right fit was going to Ukraine to fight for the side that started the war by invading Ukraine.
Why would he choose that side? That's one of the first questions I will ask the kid when I see him.

I'll try not to refer to him as Senator Bernie Junior, but I can't wait to hear what he says.
Tom DeFalter is interesting. I like him. His directness rivals any Corp D.I. I have ever met. He means what he says. There is one thing about him and his wife that is a thorn almost up my ass.
Why did they wait so long before becoming concerned about Jason?
Most people would not send their kid to college, not hear from him during the winter holidays, and finally pick up the phone and say, "Where's Junior?"
Mom (Ellen) seems genuinely concerned but quickly blames her husband when the news about Jason being in Ukraine is delivered.
She said to her husband, "This is your fault."
If there is genuine concern, the Ukrainian Embassy may also be concerned. We'll see how that happens.
I was deep in thought when the Air France Flight Attendant asked me what I would like to drink.
I'm sure I heard her say "Stupid American" as she reached into the cart of fine wines and liquors to get me a Bud Light.
My family is different from the Defalters. When I was at Parris Island, my mom wrote to me every week, and kept up with my boot stage.
Does wealth insulate parents from their kids?
I don't get it.
A good soldier grabs sleep when he can. I'll deal with a time difference and a flight change in Paris.
The train runs from CDG airport to Warsaw and it takes over 15 hours. European trains are comfortable, clean and offer many amenities like wifi. For the most part phone signals are good so you don't need it.
Remember, good soldiers grab shut-eye when they can, and now is the time.
I put my head in the corner and closed my eyes, thinking about Tammy, in a very special way. You know.
(A bottle of water at CDG costs, about $3.50 which is cheaper than BOS)
